As is usual we find that because of the high standard of our entries we have far more festival quality films than we have time and space for in the actual festival program. Therefore, to try and mitigate our feelings of guilt for not being able to include them in the final selection we award commendations. To emphasis this we also pledged to give these films a public screening.
This policy has proved to be more popular than we could ever have imagined. We have run regular film nights, built up a loyal and enthusiastic audience and given those commended the public exposure we feel that they deserve.
